Project Story:
Successful business ownership isn’t new to entrepreneurs, Rekko and Clarissa. After running an already successful business – Lake Union Hot Tub Boats – they were ready to scale.
The latest addition to their fleet on Lake Union? A floating sauna.
Seattle Sauna embodies the owners’ deep connection to the water, shaped by years of life on and around Lake Union. To them, it’s more than just a business – it’s a celebration of the lake’s serene beauty and revitalizing energy. Their goal is to foster a community rooted in nature, connection, and relaxation.
To bring this vision to life, they turned to Cedar and Stone Nordic Sauna—trusted for our dedication to creating bespoke sauna experiences that focus on guest experience, sustainability, and beautiful design.
After hopping on a plane to Duluth to meet the team and try our floating sauna experience on Lake Superior firsthand, they felt inspired and confident in bringing their own experience to their Seattle community.

All-inclusive Support for Sauna Business
From our commercial build expertise to the coaching and accountability provided by the Sauna Business Accelerator program, the value was clear to them from the start. As business owners, they’ve had their share of figuring things out the hard way. But when they saw what we offer, it clicked—they knew it was exactly what they needed and signed up for the Sauna Business Accelerator to jumpstart their floating sauna business.
The design process began with an appreciation for Lake Union’s rich maritime heritage and the bustling energy of Seattle’s skyline. Moored at Seattle Marina, the floating sauna needed to harmonize with its environment, nestled among houseboats, pontoons, and their other business, Lake Union Hot Tub Boats. Our team envisioned a structure that would seamlessly integrate into this setting while providing guests with an authentic Finnish sauna ritual – the cycle of hot, cold, rest, rehydrate, repeat.

“The sauna itself is a dream, with breathtaking views of the water that make for an unforgettable experience.” – Guest Review
In their first month of operation, they quickly earned nearly 100 5-star reviews. Like this one from Google reviewer, Natalie C., “A Perfect Sauna Escape on South Lake Union!”
“My partner and I had an incredible experience at this floating sauna on South Lake Union! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless—great parking, a warm welcome from the friendly staff, and an atmosphere that felt both relaxing and rejuvenating,” Natalie continued. “The sauna itself is a dream, with breathtaking views of the water that make for an unforgettable experience. But what truly made it exceptional was Jasmine—her energy, hospitality, and attention to detail created the perfect vibe. She made sure everything was just right, adding to the calming yet vibrant atmosphere.”
