PANELIST: Steve Crosbie, Founder & CEO, Fad Saoil Saunas
After transitioning away from professional rugby in 2019, he returned to third-level education to complete his sport and exercise management degree at UCD. During his studies, he authored a paper on sauna bathing trends and cultures globally, which was the catalyst for his founding Fad Saoil Saunas later that year. At the time it was Ireland’s only public outdoor sauna. The seed for Fad Saoil was sown several years before this with Steve experiencing sauna culture in New Zealand.
Back home, he was always dragging players out to Salthill for a dip in the sea before a sauna at a local gym afterward. Steve has a deep-rooted passion for sharing the positive impact sauna can have on a person’s physical, mental, and emotional health. Hence, he is on a mission to bring it to as many people as possible – firstly on the island of Ireland, before moving further afield with Fad Saoil.
