1 | hot

Turn up the heat

Allow yourself time to acclimate. During this phase of the thermic cycle, we encourage you to listen to your body. Is a 5k a long race? That depends if you’re a marathon runner or just getting started. Sauna should be enjoyed, not endured.  For authentic sauna, it’s essential to add loyly, the act of throwing water on the stones.  Widely known as the spirit or the soul of the sauna in Finnish sauna culture, many people believe that if you can’t throw water on the stove it’s not actually sauna. When spending time in the hot room, health benefits abound, including cardiovascular function, boosted immunity, and better sleep. Enjoy wood-fired and electric heat ranging from 160-200°F.

Take the plunge

Our favorite example of opposites attract, the cold is an essential piece of experiencing the benefits of contrast therapy. Much like the hot, it’s good to allow your body to be your guide. Just because somebody else cold plunges for 3-5 minutes doesn’t mean that you should too. You are in control of how long you want to stay in and when your body is telling you it’s time to get out. Our experiences offer multiple cold exposure options with a professionally trained guide to support the body in recovery, mood enhancement, metabolic function, and mental resistance.

Essential to this process, is taking the time to rest and drop into the sensation of your body. You are welcome to enjoy any of our relaxation areas and allow the body to find respite from the overwhelm and busyness of our daily lives.

Replenish your body

Your body loses a lot of water during the sauna ritual, so it’s key to remember to hydrate throughout the process. House-blended herbal tea, ice water, and electrolytes are served to replenish as you sweat.

Settle in and repeat. This cycle is best when shared and repeated multiple times throughout your session.
