Our saunas are constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT), a solid wood material trusted in sustainable European architecture and used by no other sauna company in the U.S.
Unlike lightweight framing or prefab kits, CLT offers exceptional thermal mass, allowing your sauna to store and radiate heat more evenly. The result is the kind of smooth, radiant warmth you’d expect from a traditional log sauna, without cold spots, hotspots, or a flimsy feel.
But the difference doesn’t stop at heat. CLT gives our saunas unmatched rigidity and resilience. Each sauna is designed for daily use and built with the permanence of cross-laminated timber. A material strong enough for skyscrapers, yet refined enough for the ritual of sauna.
Learn more about why our saunas feel better, last longer, and are better for the environment:
Heat should feel clean, consistent, and grounding, not sharp, uneven, or fleeting. That’s why we build with cross-laminated timber (CLT), a material with natural thermal mass that absorbs and radiates heat slowly over time. The result is a smoother, more immersive experience that wraps your body evenly in warmth. It feels like a traditional log sauna but with modern thermal performance. No hot corners, no cold feet. Just a better way to sweat.
Sauna is not seasonal. It is part of a daily rhythm. And that calls for materials that can handle real life: humidity, snow, UV, and constant use. CLT’s layered structure gives it exceptional resistance to moisture, warping, and fatigue, even in the most challenging climates. Whether you are placing your sauna on the coast, in the mountains, or deep in the woods, this is a structure designed to stay strong, quiet, and beautiful for decades of use.
Our saunas aren’t kits. They’re solid, fully assembled structures made from dense cross-laminated timber (CLT), giving them substantial weight and a grounded, architectural presence. This rigidity is intentional: it allows each unit to withstand the demands of northern snow loads, commercial use, and seasonal extremes without shifting, creaking, or loosening over time.
That same strength also makes our saunas relocation-ready. Whether you’re in a temporary home or planning a major landscaping project down the line, your sauna can be moved and reinstalled with its integrity intact. It’s a lasting investment, not just in your property, but in your lifestyle.
We believe how something is built is just as important as how it feels. CLT is made from layers of small, fast-growing timber that use more of the forest and waste less. We process each panel in-house, which reduces transportation emissions and gives us full control over quality. Because CLT stores more carbon than it emits, every Cedar & Stone sauna moves toward a carbon-negative lifespan. It is a long-term win for both people and planet.

Our team will send over our full contract bundle that includes project totals fully inclusive of material selections, shipping, tax (if applicable), warranties, and delivery and installation strategy, estimated delivery schedule.
Full project transparent pricing helps our clients understand the entire scope of the project, instead of hidden installation costs that are more common in on-site construction projects.
Upon signature payment of 50% of the project total will be electronically invoiced for ease of payment.
As we begin ordering and construction, our team will keep you updated as your sauna is being built. Most projects move from deposit to completion in 4-6 months (lead times may vary seasonally). Our team will work with you on a target date for installation to ensure any needed site prep is completed.
When your sauna is complete we will coordinate shipping with our carriers and any needed local contractors. A final invoice of 50% will be sent to release shipment.
Installation commonly lasts 1 day. Then you can start enjoying your sauna practice.
We’ve created the modern incarnation of the traditional log sauna.
Our saunas are constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT), a solid wood material trusted in European sustainable architecture. We’re the only sauna company in the U.S. building this way.
Unlike thin framing or prefab panels, CLT offers exceptional thermal mass, creating smoother, more even heat while resisting warping and moisture over time even in the harshest of climates.
Why it matters:
The result is a sauna that feels better, lasts longer, and does right by the planet — from the inside out.
